TP1 / TP2

Definition

First and second take-profit targets. TP1 is where you take partial profit and move your stop to breakeven. TP2 is where you close the remaining position. Never skip TP1 in anticipation of TP2.

How Sigmentum uses it

TP1 is typically set at the first major resistance level or 40–50% of the full TP2 distance. It serves two functions: locking in partial profit, and triggering the move to breakeven on the remainder. Once at breakeven, the remaining position is free-rolled: if price reverses to entry, you exit flat while having already captured TP1. The trade that goes to TP1 and reverses before TP2 is the most common losing pattern for traders who skip TP1.
