Support & resistance
Price zones where significant buying (support) or selling (resistance) previously occurred, causing price to pause or reverse. They are zones with width — typically 0.3–0.5% of price — not precise lines.
How Sigmentum uses it
A support or resistance level is not a single price; it is where the aggregate execution of many market participants occurred. When price returns to that zone, the same participants become active within a range of prices — they scale in, defend their positions, and create friction. Treating a level as a precise line leads to being stopped out when price briefly pierces it before reversing. Sigmentum places stop losses below the bottom of the zone, not at the center — because the center of the zone is not the failure point, the boundary is.
